Native Bee House Project tackle urgent issue
The Railyard Conservancys' Native Bee House Project addresses the urgent issue of declining native bee populations due to multiple stressors of habitat loss, lack of nutritional resources, and pesticides with the resulting environmental and human impact. Honeybee decline is part of public awareness and academic research, yet much less attention and resources have been directed to the endangerment of native bees and pollinators critical to ecological health. The Railyard Conservancy will with assistance build and install the first large-scale (6’ x 5’ x 2’) native bee house in the city, with three smaller bee habitats in the Railyard Park.
