Maximize Your Fruit Tree Production This Year!
FREE Public Workshop : Fruit Tree Pruning for High Yields and Healthy Trees!
Date: March 7 – 10am – Noon.
Meet at the Railyard Park Community Room, behind SITE Santa Fe. Free parking will be available for those that sign in. Turn down Callejon St. alongside the railroad tracks, directly across from the Farmers Market, and park in the lot.
Presenter: Tracy Neal – local horticulturalist, landscape designer and Certified Arborist.
We will be training on actual fruit trees in the Park – so dress accordingly (closed-toe shoes, hat, sunglasses, water, clothes you can get dirty, etc.) We will provide gloves and will have tools to train with. If you prefer to use your own gloves, pruners/clippers – please bring them.
Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop Part 2 will be held a week later on Tuesday, March 14th, also from 10am – Noon.
This FREE workshop acquaints volunteers or those interested in fruit tree maintenance for their own homes with techniques and information on how to properly prune fruit trees for maximum production and easy maintenance. Accompanied by hands-on practice in the Railyard Park orchard. There’s no volunteer committment, but we’d love you to utilize your newfound skills in the Railyard Park, too!
Our workshops feature experts in agricultural and horticultural techniques, in topics ranging from tree care and pest management to informational workshops on topics such as the Acequias of New Mexico. To help you prepare for the growing season, we’ve expanded our annual gardening workshops with more offerings. All workshops will be held in the Railyard Park Community Room. Come join us!
