Parallax Art Opening
The Railyard Art Project is pleased to announce two new art installations in the Railyard Park: Parallax by Tijeras-based artist, Mark Knudson and Scanners by Santa Fe artist, Bill Dolson. The installation of the works will be completed and on display by May 25, to coincide with the Railyard Disctrict’s last Friday art walk. The 12 ft tall Parallax will be installed just North of the Rose Ramada, on the corner of Guadalupe and Cerrillos Rd. Scanners, a projection piece, best viewed at night, will be on view in the Rose Ramada.
Join us from 5-7pm Friday May 25, to see the work and meet the artist. A June 8th reception for Scanners will be planned in conjunction with CURRENTS: Santa Fe
Mark Knutson is the owner of Kason Group(http:// www.kasongroup.com), which focuses on site-specific sculptural installations and construction solutions for custom architectural metal projects. He has completed numerous projects in New Mexico, which have been featured in major Architectural publications. He holds a Bachelor in Architecture from University of Illinois in Chicago, and an MFA in Sculpture from Cranbook University.
Bill Dolson (http://www.billdolson.com/) has been working in New Media since the late 60’s. He worked as a Computer Engineering Consultant, and has consulted for NASA research projects. His art occupies a unique juncture of New Media and Land Art, creating a novel intersection between technology and the natural world.
