The Living Laboratory is a field trip program designed to engage students K-5 with outdoor learning and play in the Railyard Park. The program aims to pique students’ curiosity about the natural world, and introduce them to real-world conservation solutions being practiced in the Park. Field trips are out in the fresh air, with curriculum aligned to New Mexico science and social studies standards.
Activities may include:
Plant & Pollinator Investigation
Playgrounds & Physics
All Living Laboratory material is available in English and Spanish. Contact Executive Director Izzy Barr at email@example.com for more information about scheduling.
The Railyard Park is 100% maintained by volunteers. We always welcome school groups who want to spend time tending to the park’s gardens while learning valuable job skills and giving back to their community.
