GRAZE DAYS

Railyard Park Conservancy and Quivira Coalition, in partnership with the City of Santa Fe have officially launched “Graze Days,” a 3-5 year project in the Railyard Park’s native grasslands. With the use of grazing sheep and goats, the project aims to restore the health of the soil and the Blue Grama grasses on the corner of Cerrillos Rd and Guadalupe, while simultaneously educating the community on the many benefits of prescribed grazing both in working and urban landscapes.  Hoof action, grazing and the recycling of manure nutrients will drastically improve the health of this corner of the park in an organic and sustainable way.
